Journalling with Silhouette • Journalling is one of the most important ways of conveying the emotion and documenting the story behind a photograph. Did you know your Silhouette machine has the ability to journal as well? Using the pen holder – bought separately – you can create truly personalised cut files.

Words as design • Copic markers can be used in so many ways to add to your layout, but one you may not have considered is to use them for journalling as an element of design.

In the classroom • Looking for an interesting new technique to try? Your local scrapbooking store has the answer! Once you’ve checked out Joybells Scrapbooking’s guide to using the ink blending tool with Distress Inks below, make sure you head to one of its friendly and informative classes to try something else or join in on the fun at one of its upcoming events. Enjoy!

Click and crop • A fun thing to do is make masks or page mats by joining together lots of digital stamps. You can use these to add visual interest to your background and colour them to match your layout. Alternatively you can use one as a page mat by clipping paper or a photo to it.

Personally, I think many of us scrapbook to preserve our life and times for the sake of our children and the generations to follow.

Pilot Pen showcase • Sometimes we forget the role humble stationery products like pens, scissors and adhesives can play in our scrapbooking. Well Pilot Pen products are not so humble – they’re fab! Four contributors had a play and came up with these awesome layouts.

Technique of the month • Looking for an interesting new effect to try on your next creation? Tune in each month as we feature an innovative technique used by one of our very talented contributors. This issue we show you how to cross-stitch shapes into tags.
